I know I’ve been MIA in terms of my ACTUAL blog… Life has been showing me flames (lol), inspo and motivation has been low also, I’m still learning to run all 1 000 of my social media pages and doing my utmost to stay consistent. It’ll all come together in the end, so please bare with me.

I (fairly) recently discovered a Lash Brand called Line Spring on Instagram –  Line Spring was established early in 2017, and they sell (the cutest) packs of Lashes.

Currently, their range includes Perfect Fit Wispy Lashes @ R200.00 , 5 pairs of lashes in the same style, a more “natural”  lash. They also have The Vault Series, 3 pairs of lashes in different styles @ R225.00, they are more dramatic that the Perfect Fit Wispy Lashes.

I rate the that these lash packs are quite affordable, considering you’re getting more than one pair per pack. Also the lashes are reusable and easy to clean so they do not need to be replaced too frequently.

I have had the great pleasure of using all the lashes in their range. Truth be told, these are my most used lashes for my looks as well as clients. I mean, sure, I’ve purchased falsies from other brands, but I reach for my Line Spring falsies 9 times out of 10.

Lip care, to me, is just as important as skin care. Nobody wants to have dry crusty lips (well, I hope).. its uncomfortable and unappealing to the eye.

RubyBox was kind enough to send me (and some of my friends) Labello® Vanilla Buttercream caring lip balm to test and review for a week.

Labello® Vanilla Buttercream caring lip balm instantly (and this is not  a joke, I mean INSTANTLY) smooths and soothes. Its got a Shea butter and a vanilla aroma, basically, its smells like vanilla cupcakes and since I am OBSESSED with vanilla scents (from my body lotion to my perfume) its simply perfect for me.

With ‘thicker’ formula/consistency of this lip balm, you only need one swipe on the lips for lip moisture and care that doesn’t wear off too quickly.

Some tips on how to take care of your lips… so they remain subtle, kissable and healthy.

 

Do not Touch or Lick your Lips:

Never lick your lips. It might feel good for the moment and also feel hydrating for your lips. But it actually dries them out more. Touching them constantly also dries them out and may agitate the surface of your lips.

Drink Lots of Water:

Just like your skin, your lips need to stay hydrated from the inside too.

Remove Lipstick before sleeping:

Make sure you remove all traces of lipstick (especially matte lipsticks which are extra drying) before going to bed to allow your lips to breathe.

Also, make sure you use a hydrating lip cream, lip balm or petroleum jelly during the night so that your lips are protected as air around you tends to dry out your lips while you sleep.

Scrub and Massage:

Exfoliating your lips is essential to ensure they stay healthy and soft. It also gets rid of any dead/dry skin, which could become infected if not treated properly.

You could simply use a lip scrub or  make your own sugar scrub at home. (link: Google)

Massage your lips for 5 minutes a day to increase blood circulation in your lips. This will help your lips get the nutrients they need and your lips will look plump and healthy.

Carry a Lip Balm:

Make sure you have a good creamy and hydrating lip balm (Labello® Vanilla Buttercream caring lip balm) with you even while you are traveling. 🙂

Unswayed Family, I feel as if it’s been eons since I’ve been here. Between all the New Year craziness and resolutions I was distracted, but I assure you that I am back and ready for action!

This post is not exactly makeup or beauty related, but I would like to share with you something I am super excited about. – LG was kind enough to send me a brand new Sapience Top Loader with Smart Inverter washing machine to review! Which is super exciting, a brand-spanking new washing machine? Yaaas!

I still stay with my parents, and I am not really accustomed to doing my own washing (I am spoiled, right?) but now is the perfect time to practice, and with all the features on this LG washing machine it seems like it’s going to  be a breeze. Also, its fancy and modern looking and shiny, which fits my taste perfectly.

 

 

 

 

 

Smart Motion for Optimized Washing by Fabric

With this feature you can programme your wash by fabric type and the washing machine will pick the best motions for the type of fabric whether it be delicates or duvets or towels ensuring that your items get the best treatment. This is perfect as it will assist in the maintenance, quality and overall appearance items.

Energy Saving with Smart Inverter Control

A perfect feature for the world we are living in currently, constantly concerned about finding ways to save energy and water (I hope we are all trying to take care of our environment). Although – what does “Energy Saving with Smart Inverter Control Actually MEAN? – The machine adjusts its power consumption to the amount required, thus avoiding the use of unnecessary and unneeded power.

LG claims 36% energy saving, and many of us have prepaid meters in our homes these days (well I do) so I think it’s pretty great that this machine saves power, will save money and reduce harm of our environment.

The Smart Inverter minimizes noise and the vibration of the washing machine. This is perfect for me as I can work and record my videos etc., without the worry of the washing machine shaking the ground loose in the background. (I’m sure we know how loud washing machines can get)

Apparently – and I am super afraid to try – you could place a glass of water on the washing machine while it’s doing a cycle (do not try this at home)… seems pretty cool anyway, right!?

ICOLOUR CORRECT – Skin Seal Blur & Contour Cream Pallet

Some days ago, IColour Correct sent me their just launched Skin Seal Blur & Contour Cream Pallet. I had seen my fellow beauty bloggers using this and reviewing the pallet and it seemed pretty legit, so I was super excited when IColour Correct contacted me asking me if would be keen on testing and reviewing this product.

The pallet was created in South Africa, for South African woman who are too busy or who just don’t want to take the time to figure out larger, more complex concealing pallets or are just way too intimidated by the task of colour correcting. It makes it quick and easy for you to conceal dark circles or blemishes in a few simple steps. It’s simple to use and compact so it’s easy for you to carry in your purse in case you need a touch up or need to get glammed up for a last minute event.

Now, I feel like these shades are perfect for my skin tone as it was created for fair to medium skin tones and I am the shade NC 44 in MAC, which is in the range of skin tones this pallet can be used for.

“Our first pallet in the range works best for fair to medium skin tones, up to a NC45 in MAC.”

The concealer is used best using your fingers (which is dope because you don’t need to carry a brush) and it’s also best to use your fingers as it warms up the product to assist in blending and even distribution. I must say that the formula is quite creamy and a nice consistency.

I simply used the peach shade under my eyes and anywhere I found dark spots on my face. Then I put the green shade on my redder areas.

I did receive a guide which can be used if you’re not sure how to use it – nothing too difficult;

An easy guide

I found that the creams are light to medium coverage, and is definitely buildable if you feel like you need more coverage. Apply this before foundation and your usual concealer that you use underneath your eyes (about 2 Shades lighter than your foundation) and then use the brown shade to lightly contour. Finally set with powder and proceed with your desired look, then spritz with a setting spray.

I love this product, I sometimes even wear the peach shade under my eyes with no foundation/concealer over top (this obviously depends on your skin tone). I would probably purchase this in the future… I love the convenience, there is a good amount of product in the pans and its buildable… so whether I feel like going for a light cover or intense contour, it works in my favour.

This is perfect if you’re new to the game or if you’re a beauty guru.

True to the name, this mascara really works and people have literally asked me if my lashes are real.

It can be used underneath or on top of makeup for a smooth finish and increases makeup longevity.

• HOOLA

Hoola is a matte press powdr bronzer, used for contouring.

High beam is a liquid highlighter. Place it on the cheekbones, brow bones and anywhere else you’d like to highlight.

I usually apply this and then go in with my powder highlighter for that extra GLOW.

Swiitch Beauty Holygrail Flashcase Review

Yo girl gang! 

So a few weeks back I purchased Swiitch Beauty’s Holygrail Flashcase. I had been waiting in anticipation for this product to launch and when it finally did, I snatched one up. 

I was a bit skeptical at 1st, worried about the product being face paint, but it’s not.. 

The colours in the case are pigmented foundations and can be mixed to create custom lip colours, cream blushes, cream shadows and eyeliners as well as foundation and concealers if mixed carefully.

 They can also be used separately, and the gold and silver colours are absolutely amazing to use and a highlight or to add some sparkle to your looks. 

It’s totally safe to use on your face, and its cruelty free too!

The creams are super pigmented and a dream to work with, easily blendable. 

This product has become a staple in my daily makeup routine lately, whether I just use it as lipstick or eyeshadow , or creating a special effects makeup looks.. I simply cannot what my life would be without it. 

Definitely a repurchase item. 

Some looks I created using the Holy Grail Flash case;

I used Red for my cut crease and the gold color on my lips, topped with some gold glitter for extra sparkle 

I mixed some white and pink together to achieve this beautiful Barbie Lippie

Dot work eyeliner using different colours from the Holygrail Flashcase. 

For this look, I used the royal blue pigment and topped it off with some blue glitter. (I am utterly obsessed with glitter lips!)
